You need to get your copy and meet them too! This book was everything I needed. This was honestly the cutest book ever. Super worth it. The HEA was everything.
The chemistry and obvious love between Keegan and Blakely was precious. I simply loved it. Must re-read!!!
Feb 20, Ally. Reads rated it really liked it Shelves: second-chance , single-parent. I can't decide how I feel. I'm going to be completely honest I went into this book blind.
I am not a fan of books that have main characters still in high school. And at the beginning of this book, the heroine was 18 legal but still in high school.

Luckily when I did, I found out that I was only a couple chapters away from the time jump so I stuck it out. And I'm so glad I did!
I ended up really enjoying it. So yay! Nikki Ash is an author I love and get excited to read her books Apr 13, Laura rated it did not like it.

Jan 11, Tabitha Willbanks rated it it was amazing Shelves: arcs , top-reads-of Blakely and her sister, who have had it pretty rough, decide to spend their spring break at a beach resort.
While Blakely is relaxing on the beach reading one of her favorite books, a football flies right into her, and her book goes flying into the atlantic.
But hello Keegan! He sets his sights on Blakely, and she doesn't stand a chance. They end up falling for each other, and by the end of break Keegan finally gets her number, but they were in such a rush as both of them were leaving, Blakely wasn't able to get his number.
Well jump four years later, and Keegan never called. But fate steps in, and they run into each other on Blakely's college campus after a little mix up.
And oh, Blakely has a little surprise for Keegan. I've read my ARC several times already. I can't get enough of Blakely, Keegan and little Zane!
Zane was such a little scene stealer! He was the cutest little kid. Fool Me Once was just a fun little read, that will leave you with hearts in your eyes!

This is the first book that I've read by this author and I didn't know what to expect, I'm glad that I've found another great author to read their work.
I really liked the story line and thought that it was written awesomely. Blakely 'B' is the older sister to Sierra 'S'.
These two sister's have been through hell. They've been through a terrible tragedy together and after there parents both died, the girls had to be placed i OH MY!!
They've been through a terrible tragedy together and after there parents both died, the girls had to be placed in foster care, until Jordan took them both in.
Then at the beach one summer B meets Keegan and her life literally changes forever. Keegan is a very sweet, caring, hot and sexy guy who also can be very loving and very protective especially of the people he loves.
Keegan has also been through alot and meeting Blakely seems is what they both needed. Brenton is Blakely's best friend and he has been secretly in love with her for a long time.
Only fate steps in throws up a few curve balls? This book flicks back from the past and the present to enable us to understand what happens then time passes until they meet again.
I absolutley love these characters and I loved these two together, they have a strong connection and great chemistry between them both, the author really brought them to life.
All Keegan wanted to do is protect her even when the secrets get revealed. Can she ever forgive him? This book has twists and shockers that you won't see coming and I feel that this author kept you guessing right the way through.
I just couldn't put this book down, it's a real page turner and a complete must read. I loved the epilogue and I feel that this always bring that something extra special to the story so we can see where the characters are now.
This book has secrets, lies, love, hope second chances and forgiveness. I'm glad that I found another great author to read and I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone when it gets released as it's a total must read.
This book is one of the easiest five stars I've ever given and is completely well deserved. I really hope that Sierra and Kolton get their own story next that would be awesome.
I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone when it gets released. Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. This book is expected to be released on 5th March This story hooked me from the first page.
I do love a second chance romance and the chemistry between the characters certainly was electric! The steady build-up of feelings had me immersed in the story with them, willing them on.
The swoony lead and the standoffish heroine were just perfect, the writing kept me enthralled the whole way through, I laughed and had a few happy tears.
Then, throw in a splash of drama and it was all I could do to put my kindle down and be an adult! Keegan is a spectac This story hooked me from the first page.
Keegan is a spectacular specimen of man from start to finish and he knows how to treat a woman in and out of the bedroom.
He and his family are wonderful people and I feel I know them all personally. Blakey is so controlled and focused, from teen to adult she is singularly determined to be all that she can be and nothing will stand in her way.
Her relationship with her sister, strained to start with, was fantastic to watch grow. I admired Blakely very much. I would happily recommend you buy this book ASAP!

I loved Keegan and Blakely. Blakely is strong, focused and determined. She has a huge heart and gives as good as she gets.
Keegan is simply a really good man. Charismatic and protective the man was simply lethal. I enjoyed experiencing their first collision, but it was their second that kept me turning the pages.
I loved how well the flowed and the chemistry between them was undeniable. But what got me the most washow open and honest they were about what they felt for each other and how they handled a very big situation right from the start.
Of course not everything can run smoothly and the twist that was tossed into the mix was definitely an interesting one, but I loved how everything worked out for them in the end.
This was a fun read. I really enjoyed how the majority of the issues that arose in this book were handled.
There are a couple of things that could be triggers for some, but overall this was a fun, sweet and smexy romance with just enough drama to keep things interesting.
This was my first Nikki Ash novel and I cannot express enough how much I loved it!! Fool Me Once touched on several tropes which is why I think it touched on so many of my emotions.
The story began with a heavy look on the relationship between Blakely and her sister Sierra. The family they now were, the family they lost, and the connection that Blakely was deeply trying to regain with her only remaining family member.
There were so many times their relationship reminded me of my daughters and the This was my first Nikki Ash novel and I cannot express enough how much I loved it!!
There were so many times their relationship reminded me of my daughters and the times they have been close or struggled with their own battles.
It broke my heart in pieces reading it and I needed Blakely to find some happy. When Blakely first meets Keegan it is just meant to be a fling, something to boost her spirits out of the slump she was in and definitely there were to be no feelings involved.
At least that is what she kept telling herself. When they parted ways after spring break and she left with a part of Keegan and no way to contact him, her life drastically changed, but perhaps not all changes were a bad thing.
How often do we fool ourselves that we aren't invested, but turn out the bigger fool in the end? Been there and done that. Four years come and go and the most important people in Blakely's life are her sister and the one friend who has always been there for her, Brenton.
While she only sees him as a friend, he has other ideas. By luck or fate, when Blakely actually runs back into Keegan and he once again turns her life upside down, Brenton doesn't exactly like the idea of being set aside.
Blakely isn't sure how to make everyone happy, but she also knows she needs each person in her life as they are all important to her.
This is the ride and the journey that will make your heart race. What will happen? What has happened? What I will tell you is that it is like riding a rollercoaster; you will be really glad you got on once the ride is over, but you might scream during the ride.
Fool Me Once is an emotional ride. It's heartwarming at times, shocking at others, and such a journey you won't want to miss it.

I think that is one thing that really drew me into this story. I loved every moment reading this story. Fool Me Once was yet another fantastic read by Nikki Ash.
Fool Me On e was so much more than I ever dreamed it would be. Blakely especially stole my heart in this one. Fiercely strong but so caring when it comes to those she loves I truly felt for her in all she went through.
Dec 30, Lisa rated it it was amazing. I really enjoyed this book. Great second chance meeting years later. One of my favorite reads so far this year.
Feb 25, Emily Goodman rated it it was amazing. Set in the sunny sands of Florida, Ash brings together Blakely and Keegan during a week long spring break that changes the course of their lives forever.
Guy and girl meet have a one time fling, unexpected pregnancy and years later end up finding each other again.
I was a huge fan of the first novel's premise, so again this was a win for me. Although there are similarities as all books have within a trope, I will say there were enough differences to make this book successful.
Blakely and Sierra are two sisters that share a deeply complex shared past after the death of their parents and later their grandmother.
The only family they have is each other until fate reunites Blakely with Keegan. Keegan and his family help heal the wounds for both sisters making this story so much more than your average run of the mill romance.
Ash also brings the heat. Each scene was driven, focused on bringing the characters closer together while also providing that sought after sexual tension all romance readers want.
Which leads me to another thing I look for in a romance novel… Conflict. And boy, does Ash bring this one in spades. Without spoiling it for you I will say not only did Ash get me once with her revelations, but twice all that the end of this novel.
Fool Me Once was yet another incredible novel by Ash. Feb 26, Jenifer Briggs rated it it was amazing.

During spring break of high school, estranged sisters Blakley and Sierra go on a trip that will change both of their lives forever.

Even though they haven't been close to one another since the accident, they I just finished this book a few minutes ago, and I am just so blown away!!!
Even though they haven't been close to one another since the accident, they are still the only family they have left. When they go to the beach for spring breaks, Blakley meets Keegan, a gorgeous, dimpled hunk who she could easily see herself fall for if she was in a different place in her life.
She is set to go to college in a few months and won't let anything get in the way of making something of herself.
But when their surprisingly emotional fling brings the surprise of a lifetime, but it also brings the sisters back together in a way that is truly beautiful.
I loved how Blakley and Sierra were each other's rock, and how Sierra really stepped up compared to how she acted in the beginning of the book..
I was just so overjoyed that this brought them even closer. Four years have passed since Blakely and Keegan last saw each other, until one morning fate decides to bring them back together.
When the truth is revealed about what happened during the aftermath of their fling, they embark on such a beautiful relationship.
I truly adored how it felt like no time passed at all between them; they were just meant to be together and that was so very obvious.
There are some twists and turns, and definitely some intrigue towards the end, and I was torn between wanting to savor this amazing story or read it as fast as I could.
I loved every single character in this book and I hope I will see more of them in this authors future work!! I cannot recommend this book enough!
Make sure you one click when this becomes available! Feb 22, Viridiana Dimas rated it it was amazing. All The Stars!! I have just read the end to Nikki Ash's best book yet and my new favorite!
I'm talking, crack for your eyes type of addictive, unputdownable, page turner. Nothing could've prepared me for the twists and turns Keegan and Blakely's story took, and loved every single page of it.
I couldn't get enough of these two, and the adorable Zane! Fool Me Once was all consuming in a "the rest of the world was nonexistent" kind of way.
I devoured every word and felt every emotion All The Stars!! I devoured every word and felt every emotion of these characters from start to finish.

Nov 27, Supratim rated it really liked it Shelves: mystery , thriller. Well Mr. Coben -- you certainly write good mystery novels. I need to explore more of your works.
Trust plays a very important role in our life -- I mean we have to trust a number of people in our daily life - that's how our society functions.
Whom do we trust most - our family and close friends. What if certain events turn your world upside down - you don't know whom to trust - your paranoia makes you suspect your friend and you start doubting your own sanity as well.
The protagonist of the story Well Mr. The protagonist of the story - Maya Stern is an ex-military pilot who was forced out of the army because of an operational blunder and worse than that her sister and husband have been murdered - her husband's murder took place in front of her own eyes.
Maya spends sleepless nights due to PTSD and has to take care of her two year old daughter alone. Her struggles at trying to be a good mother, her refusal to seek medical help for her condition, her not-so-flattering opinions on the super wealthy -- all make her a real human -- we all have our struggles, our stubbornness and opinions.
She watches something on her nanny cam and gets drawn into the conspiracy. She sets out to solve the murder of her sister and husband - seeks help from an army buddy and even forms an unlikely alliance with a whistle-blower who had hurt her in the past.
To use the cliched expression - the past refuses to stay buried and still claims victims - I won't say anything more for fear of revealing the plot.
The mystery would keep you turning the pages - the author has created an atmosphere where you don't know whom to trust. The perfect setting for a mystery novel and I simply loved the character of Maya - a lone individual seeking the truth against heavy odds.
The final revelation is excellent. I wish the ending was a bit different though. This novel is a thriller which seeks to entertain and it serves its purpose really well.
If you want a lighthearted quick read to while away the time, then I would recommend it to you. View all 21 comments.

I loved this book! I am a huge fan of Harlan Coben's work and have been so for years. I have enjoyed some of his books more than others but I have yet to come across one that I didn't like.

This book exceeded all of my expectations and even through in some things that I hadn't expected. This book is one of Coben's finer novels in my opinion.
This book opens with a bang. Maya is at her husband's funeral. He was murdered and his killer has yet to be caught. Maya's young daughter isn't even old enough to understand what is going on.
I was immediately drawn to Maya. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to be in her position. The police are still questioning her about what she saw when her husband was killed.
They are relentless and don't seem to want to give her any chance to grieve her loss. Maya has lost a lot. Her sister has also recently died.
It really seems like Maya has experienced more tragedy than anything else recently. After her husband's funeral, Maya's friend suggests that she get a nanny cam to keep an eye on her daughter's caretaker.
She puts the device in her home but when she checks the video she can't believe her eyes. She finds her husband who is supposed to be dead on the video with her daughter.
Maya finds herself with more questions than answers and she starts taking steps to find out what is really going on.
This book took me to places that I never expected and that is what made it so wonderful. Everything that Maya learned just brought up more questions.
There were times that I thought I knew where the story was going only to be quickly proven wrong and be pulled into another direction.
The way the story was told worked well and the plotting was very detailed. We spend the entire time with Maya and see all of the steps that she is taking in her own quest to learn the truth.
I love a story that can keep me guessing and I was completely shocked by the things that I learned by the end of the story.
I would highly recommend this book to others. I really think that any reader who enjoyed a cleverly plotted book filled with twists and turns will enjoy this one.
I plan to continue to read Harlan Coben's work and can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

This is an amazing and totally engrossing page-turner with an ending you won't see coming. One of the very best endings to a mystery suspense-thriller I've ever read Former Special Ops pilot, Maya she's kind of a bad-ass and I loved her , witnesses the murder of her husband, shot right in front of her in a public park at night, leaving her a widow and a single mother to their two-year-old daughter, Lily.
The murder was never solved. What exactly happened that night? Then, Maya This is an amazing and totally engrossing page-turner with an ending you won't see coming.
Then, Maya sees something on her nanny cam footage Is he alive? Is someone messing with her?
She's already suffering heavily from PTSD. Can she trust her own eyes? Maya is an amazing character, and her heroic, protective instincts as a mother, soldier, and citizen were just so gripping and admirable to experience.
I can not imagine anyone not loving this book. Apr 04, Rob rated it did not like it. Great story, great writing, great characters and endless plot twists and turns.
I read a second Coben novel and yet again, was floored Great story, great writing, great characters and endless plot twists and turns.
A fourth novel moved him into my top three. I read a fifth novel. One It always relates back to something that happened 20 years ago. Dead mother, dead father, dead brother, dead sister, dead husband, dead wife.
Same old tired, worn-out, rehashed storyline. For anyone who has never read any of his novels, go to your local library, pick up any Coben novel and read it.
I guarantee you will LOVE it. Then, do yourself a favor. By about page 65, we learn that her husband, Joe, had a brother. Joe and the brother were out at sea when the brother fell overboard.
This was 20 years ago, just prior to Maya and Joe meeting. He is one of only 3 authors whose words have literally moved me to tears.
He is one of a few authors who have actually had me burst out laughing. His writing is great! His stories and plot? Not so much.
Mr Coben is way too talented a writer to write the same old hackneyed novels year after year.
I guess, since he is a best-selling author, why change? His fans will buy his books, his fans will read his books, he will make millions, his pubsisher and agent will make millions.
Everyone will be happy—except for those of us who believe he is wasting his talent. Or more importantly, why do I finish every Coben novel I start?
I not only like his writing style a lot but I love his characters. His books are fast-moving, easy reads. Coben is actually telling you a story, not writing a book.
Plus, his characters are real people. They are funny, flawed, down-to-earth. You connect with them. You identify with them. I found Mr. Gone was the personal touch.
The wit and humor felt forced. I cant help but feel that Mr Coben simply needed to fulfill his contract to churn out another book and put very little effort into this one.
The dialogue was forced and stilted and not real. Or connect with any of the secondary characters. She is a single mom raising her 2 year-old daughter.
She is the type of person you want to root for. Yet, she was…cold, aloof and downright boring, maybe even rude to people trying to help. We are told she loved her husband, Joe.
Yet, we see no flashbacks of something that shows they were in love. She has a 2 year-old daughter, Lily. Yet, Maya seems uninterested in her daughter, almost inconvenienced when her daughter wants to hear a bedtime story.
We are told Maya is great friends with a fella named Shane. Yet, she continually is rude and short with him, hanging up the phone on his numerous times and we see no evidence of their friendship.
I make it a practice to never give 1 star to a book I finish. I strongly doubt I will read any more of his.

Taken at face value, however, this is an excellent thriller, packed with taut, edgy suspense, and is certainly entertaining, keeping me fully engaged from start to finish.
What more can you ask for? But, if you want to dig a little deeper, this story provides an interesting character study and one that left me feeling a little conflicted.
I hoped the truth would set everyone free and in a bizarre way it did just that, but not in a way I ever wo Fool Me Once by Harlen Coben is a publication.
I hoped the truth would set everyone free and in a bizarre way it did just that, but not in a way I ever would have imagined proving that pat, black and white answers are rare.
What choices you make can and will come back to haunt you but are they entirely wrong? Are there extenuating circumstances?
Is there a way to even the score? Maybe we all carry a little darkness in our souls or maybe we just want to see justice done the way we think is should be, and maybe heroism comes in many forms.
You be the judge. Because this is a stand- alone, anyone who loves a good old fashioned mind game with plenty of chills and thrills should give this one a try.

It was very well managed and I was clueless! I must admit that occasionally in the first half of the book the thought did cross my mind that this was not as good as the Myron Bolitar books.
Maya did a lot of mental self evaluation and once or twice I am sure I muttered out loud something like "Oh do get on with it!

More in this vein please Mr Coben I will be looking forward to your next release with interest. I love that the main character was a fierce female that did not hold back any punches.

Maya has just buried her husband, Joe. Few months before, her sister, Claire, had been tortured and murdered. Maya is in a strange state, suffering from PTSD as well.
This novel was a bit too convoluted. Sure, it keeps you reading. I personally just try to enjoy the ride, as I know that the guilty party is always someone unexpected, true for this 'Fool Me Once' was different from the two previous Coben novels I read recently, in that the main heroine was a woman, Maya Stern, a former army captain.
I personally just try to enjoy the ride, as I know that the guilty party is always someone unexpected, true for this novel as well. I found a few of the scenarios a bit far fetched and unlikely, and a couple of times, during Maya's chasing for clues, I wondered what had happened with her little daughter or with her job, as nothing was mentioned about either who was looking after Lily and didn't she have to be at work?
Unfortunately, Fool Me Once was a miss for me. It felt soulless, mainly because Maya seemed too cold and calculated, which I guess makes sense for a soldier, but I don't know, I found myself not caring that much.
The writing seemed somewhat clinical. So, yes, I read it all, but was it riveting? Not really. View all 17 comments.

She is one very unhappy person. Her thought process is flawed and her actions are extreme. Secondary characters are cliches.

The storyline is typically convoluted, sometimes implausible, but wrapped up thoroughly in the end. In hindsight, there was one scene that should have had me seeing how this was going to end.
I do believe the ending was apropos. However, I wasn't too wrapped up in the story; I just went along for the ride. One thing that irritated me throughout the book was that every character who was having a conversation with Maya had to repeatedly get her attention by saying, "Maya?
That she couldn't concentrate on anything? I've read all of Coben's books. This might be the beginning of the end. Company Credits.
